How to build a gallery wall
A few simple rules for making posters of different sizes look right together on one wall.
A gallery wall is the easiest way to give an empty space character. The trick is to plan it before you reach for the hammer.
Start with the largest piece
Place the largest poster slightly off-centre and build the rest around it. The arrangement feels natural rather than rigidly symmetrical.
Leave 5–8 cm between frames. Even spacing keeps the wall tidy, even when the sizes differ.
Mix the formats
Combining portrait, landscape and square posters gives the wall rhythm. For colour, stick to two or three shared tones.
